Janome lists several buttonhole-foot variants, and their names do not tell you whether they came with a particular machine. Start with the exact foot part and model list, then check the buttonhole method and package information for your machine’s market.

Compare the listed 2212 variants#

PartJanome listing nameWhat the page says2212 listing

The two sliding parts have different product names and remain separate variants. The source names the w/Sizer version but does not explain a setting or procedure that makes the two sliding parts interchangeable. The 940340000 foot is another design and task context; do not select a part from its general name alone.

Check buttonhole type and package contents#

Janome describes the sliding buttonhole foot for four-step buttonholes on front-loading machines. The product page also says a sliding foot is included as a standard accessory on machines with a one-step buttonhole function. That is a conditional product-family statement, not a model-by-model package list. It does not establish that any of the three listed parts came in every Janome 2212 box or in every regional package.

Before buying, identify the model suffix and market, then compare the current local machine bundle, the exact accessory part number, and the machine manual. A compatibility listing means the manufacturer lists a part for a model; it does not mean the part is included.

Before sewing#

Use the buttonhole mode and foot specified in your exact machine manual. Janome’s accessory pages provide purpose and compatibility information but do not give a complete installation or needle-clearance procedure for every listed model. Follow the manual, check clearance by hand with the machine off where directed, and stop if the needle touches the foot or plate.

For other Janome 2212 presser-foot examples, see the selected accessory listing. For model, region, part, and clearance checks across brands, use the compatibility checklist.
