Brother’s US support answer lists the CS7000X among the models covered by its automatic needle-threader checks. It is a limited checklist, not a diagnosis of every mechanical fault. Use the current manual for your exact model and region, and do not force the threader lever or hook.

Check whether the needle and thread are suitable#

For the models on its list, Brother specifies home sewing-machine needle sizes 75/11 through 100/16 for the automatic threader. The answer says a 65/9 needle cannot be used with the device and excludes wing and twin needles. It also says not to use thread marked 130/120 or thicker with the automatic threader. Transparent nylon and metallic thread are unsuitable for it; Brother directs users to thread those needles by hand. Keep these limits within the listed Brother models and check the manual before choosing a needle or thread for sewing.

Set the needle and threader position#

Raise the needle to its highest position, using the handwheel toward you or the needle-position button if your machine has one. Recheck the upper threading against the CS7000X manual. The needle should be undamaged, fully inserted, and oriented with its flat side toward the back. Brother also says the threader lever needs to be lowered fully so its hook passes through the needle eye. With no thread in place, check that the hook enters the eye; then position the thread under the hook and in front of the needle as the support instructions show. Push the lever straight down rather than shifting it sideways, which can damage the hook.

Know when to stop#

Brother directs owners to an Authorized Service Center if the threader hook is bent, the lever will not move or return smoothly, or the listed checks do not solve the problem. Do not bend the hook, adjust its position, or open the machine to repair it. If the automatic threader still does not work, consult the exact manual or Brother support before continuing.

This page covers the threader feature only. A machine that also will not sew or move has a separate CS7000X no-sew checklist; skipped stitches on knit fabric need their own needle and setup checks.
