Brother’s support answer lists the CS7000X among the models covered by its “Machine will not sew/move” checklist. The same answer warns that not every cause applies to every machine, so use the CS7000X manual for control positions and regional support details.

Check power and sewing mode#

Confirm that the power cord is firmly connected to a working outlet and that the machine’s main switch is on. Check that the bobbin-winder shaft has returned to the sewing position shown in the manual. Brother also lists handwheel position as a possible cause on covered models; turn it only in the direction the CS7000X manual specifies and do not force it if it feels resistant.

Check threading and controls#

Confirm that the upper thread is routed correctly and is not tangled. Make sure the presser foot is lowered for sewing. Then check whether the foot controller is connected and being used in the expected way. Brother’s answer says its start/stop button may not operate while the foot controller is connected; disconnect the controller first if the manual says to use start/stop. If the LCD is in screen-saving mode, touch it to wake it.

The support checklist also mentions controls or attachments that vary by model, including an embroidery unit. Do not assume every item applies to a CS7000X or move an attachment while the machine is on. Confirm the exact machine state against the current manual before changing a setup.

When the machine still will not sew#

If the power, sewing position, threading, presser foot, and applicable controls are correct but the machine remains still, stop troubleshooting and contact Brother support or an Authorized Service Center. This checklist does not diagnose a motor, controller, wiring, or internal mechanical fault. Do not open the housing or try electrical repairs.

If the needle bar itself will not move or the handwheel is hard to turn, follow the separate needle-bar checks for the CS7000X. For a machine that sews but runs slowly, see Brother CS7000X slow-sewing checks.
